About the Event
This month's webinar is about how to handle conflict without playing the role of a victim.
Do you cower when someone raises their voice? Are you crushed when someone gives you a piece of their mind? Do you turn off the TV or blow-off meetings because you take discord personally? Do you avoid family and friends who are vociferously partisan?
It is hard to navigate in the world today if you are even a little bit self-reflective, if you ever pause to reflect on your position on issues or how you come off to others. In other words, if you are vulnerable at all, you are likely to feel hurt, even abused, whenever contentious issues are brought up, which, in today's social discourse, happens constantly. We just can't avoid conflict, so, how can we deal with it effectively without playing the role of the victim?
In this month's webinar, we'll explore our vulnerabilities to "Bullies, Bad Actors, Put-Offs and Putdowns." We'll check on our reactivity to other people's power trips and take steps to change our responses so we can feel good about ourselves and, perhaps, even about the people who try to push us around.

Our webinars unfold in two parts. First, I make a presentation on some source of unhappiness in anyone's life. Topics have included "Stepping out of our stories," "Wellness based on BEING," "Placebo? Who Cares?" "Depression," "Family Relations" and "Why People Don't Heal." Sometimes presentations are based on themes from movies or TV shows such as "Divergent," "Snow Cake," "The Lion King," "The Circle" and "The Secret." Then, we undertake a group healing session in which I guide participants through a process that releases or balances the energy that is producing their distress.
In the Group Clearing® session, each participant thinks of what they would like to see change in their life. They also envision what their life would be like when transformed—they conceive of a transformed state that holds a greater sense of WellBEING and wellness. Then everyone just relaxes into a quiet state, no longer attending what each person wants to change or even to the desired outcome. The act of intention itself stimulates the process of transformation. During the session, Nature’s Intelligence in all its forms, which manifests as our natural tendency to heal, works to produce the desired change. My role is to guide the group's process, keeping the intention for transformation lively throughout the session. Benefits from a Group Clearing session tend to show up in the next day or two. I ask people to notice what is different. What’s different may not be the specific thing desired, but whatever shows up will be desirable. And to share a point applicable in every aspect of our lives: It’s very important not to put attention on what feels the same. If we look for what hasn't changed, holding the expectation that what makes us unhappy will persist, we'll find it. This prevents transformation from completing so things remain in or return to their unhappy state.
