Our future, which holds unlimited potentiality, is shaped by impressions from our past and by our present circumstances. Everything that has happened to us in this lifetime and past lifetimes, as well as our attitudes and beliefs, influences what will come to us in the future. But so does Nature's plan for us, commonly known as "dharma" (life purpose). When we come to a crossroads, a place where we can choose what direction to take, we may not be able to recognize which path represents dharma and which arises from pain from our past experiences.
